Yesterday, Portland Fire & Rescue Firefighter Brett Collins from Station 4 received a special visit from KGW NewsChannel 8.
Brett, a firefighter at Portland since June 2000, is a former linebacker in the National Football League who played for the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams. Collins played collegiate ball for the University of Washington before being drafted by the Packers in the 12th round of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played professionally for three seasons from 1992 to 1994.
KGW contacted Firefighter Collins to talk about the path Brett took to get to Portland Fire. Collins spoke about how firefighting is a lot like football. Both are team-oriented and require an unwavering sense of trust. Click on the video above and get to know Firefighter Collins better!
