August 11, 2012

7:02 PM

At 5:45 pm, Portland firefighters were dispatched to a house on fire at 9420 SW Barbur Blvd. Upon arrival, fire crews found a one-story wood frame structure fully involved in flames. Portland Fire Stations 5 (Hillsdale), 10 (Burlingame) and 18 (Multnomah Village) launched an aggressive fire attack. The fire was brought under control at 6:15 pm.

An adult male was injured in the fire. He was transported Emanuel Hospital with burns and his condition is unknown at this time. No firefighters were injured during firefighting operations.

Fire investigators are currently on scene working to determine the cause of this fire and the extent of damage to the structure. Portland Fire received mutual aid from Lake Oswego Fire. A Portland Fire rehab unit also responded to the fire to provide firefighters with extra air bottles and to ensure they have access to adequate hydration due to the warm temperatures.
