NEWS RELEASE 4/14/13: Portland Fire & Rescue Responds to Three Morning House Fires in SE Portland
At 3:51am Portland Fire & Rescue responded to a residential fire at SE 83rd and Flavel St. The crew from Station 11 (Lents) arrived at 3:55am and found fire in the porch and crawl space from under the house. Engine 11 quickly extinguished the fire while additional fire crews searched the home for occupants, checked for fire extension inside the structure and supplied water from a hydrant.
The fire was brought under control at 4:18am. No injuries were reported in this fire and crews remained on scene mopping up and removing smoke from the building. A fire cause and damage estimates are still under investigation.
Roughly three hours later (7:19am) Portland Fire & Rescue responded to a residential fire at 7508 SE Flavel St. The crew from Station 11 (Lents) arrived at 7:24am and found smoke coming from the structure. Engine 11 extinguished a small fire inside the residence while the crews from Station 25 (Woodstock) searched the structure for occupants and supplied water.
The fire was brought under control at 7:34am. No injuries were reported in this fire and crews remained on scene removing smoke from the building. A fire cause and damage estimates are still under investigation. Due to the location of both of these residential fires, one engine from Clackamas Fire District #1 provided assistance.
At 8:48am Portland Fire & Rescue responded to a residential fire at 9628 SE Ellis St. The crew from Engine 25 (Woodstock) arrived at 8:53am and found smoke coming from the house. They began searching for possible occupants while Engine 29 (Powellhurst) extinguished the fire on the first floor and Truck 25 (Woodstock) assisted with removing smoke from the structure.
The fire was brought under control at 9:11am. No victims were found and no injuries were reported in this fire. Fire crews remain on scene mopping up. A Portland Fire Investigator is on scene working to determine the fire cause and damage estimates.
