NEWS RELEASE 5/2/13: Portland Fire & Rescue Responds to Commercial Fire at 3944 NE Cully Blvd
At 1032 pm Portland Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a commercial fire at 3944 NE Cully Blvd. The fire was discovered by a Portland Police Officer who noticed flames and smoke from a structure attached to a bar at the address above. When engine 28 arrived they found a covered patio structure fully involved in flames. Engine 28, with the assistance of additional engine companies, was able to contain the fire by initially using hose lines from the exterior of the structure and then followed up with an interior "mop up" of remaining hot spots on the interior. Additional Truck crews were used to provide ventilation of the structure and attached business. Arson investigators are on the scene now with the assistance of fire crews to remove debris and begin assessing for a cause of this fire.
