Firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire in the vicinity of 21st and N.E. Multnomah at 5:07 this morning. Additional units were requested due to the size of the fire (50' x 75') and the close vicinity of residential homes. Fire Station 28 used a Water Turret to quickly put out the bulk of the fire, while other fire crews used specialized wildland firefighting equipment, including lightweight fire hose, to extinguish the fire.
There were no injuries reported on this fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway and further information will be released as soon as it is available.
