SE Portland House Fire Caused By Propane Hester; Displaces 5 Adults

Portland Fire was dispatched to a house fire at 7:41 this evening. Initial reports from multiple callers was that fire coming from the roof of a home.

First arriving crews encountered heavy fire coming from the front of 10104 SE Harold St. Dispatch relayed reports of possible occupants inside the home.

After an aggressive attack on the fire from the interior, firefighters knocked the fire down. The fire was mainly located in the living room.

Investigators were called to help determine the cause. The fire started when an occupant attempted to light a propane heater inside the home. The home had no electric service.

No occupants were injured in this fire. Two dogs perished, however.

(5) occupants were displaced by this fire. Red Cross is responding to provide assistance.
