PF&R and NW Natural crews are just wrapping up efforts at 6237 SE Morrison St. Crews were dispatched at 1:50pm to investigate a possible broken line. It was discovered that an excavation crew had accidentally broken a 2" main in the street. As suggested, the excavation crew shut down their equipment and called 911. PF&R crews isolated a safe zone around the leak and monitored nearby homes for the presence of gas. No gas was found in homes and no evacuation was ordered. NW Natural crews have just finished clamping the broken line. Traffic in the area should return to normal soon.

In an effort to reduce these accidents, PF&R and NW Natural would like to remind residents to call 811 at least two business days before you dig. It's the law.
