Portland Fire & Rescue Fights String Of Early Morning Fires

Portland Fire & Rescue crews from the north end of Portland stayed busy this morning fighting several suspicious fires. Due to their close geographic proximity and dispatch times, PF&R Arson Investigators were dispatched to assist. The total loss to property is estimated at $30,000. Arson lnvestigators are actively working this case, more information will be posted as it becomes available.

Another unrelated residential fire was dispatched at 04:30 in SW Portland. The first arriving company reported heavy black smoke coming from a closed garage door. After making entry, extinguishing the fire, and clearing the home of potential victims it was determined that the fire originated in the garage due to an electrical problem. There were no fire or civilian casualties. Property loss is estimated at $25,000.
