Rainwater Pavilion dedication in Tanner Springs Park
September 25, 2009
Nick spent Thursday evening in Tanner Springs Park, at the dedication of the Rainwater Pavilion in honor of Graham Clark. He was joined by Commissioner Fritz and Parks Director Zari Santner.
The Pavilion is a focal point for the park, gathering rainwater and channeling it to the wetland pond in the park, reflecting "the nature of a wetland pond leaf channeling rainwater to replenish a wetland."
The Pavilion came to life through several years of effort from family and friends of Graham Clark, the Portland Parks Foundation, and the City. It was funded with City money and by private donations from more than 60 individual donors.
Tanner Springs Park is located at NW 10th and Marshall, in the Pearl neighborhood of downtown Portland.
