Two permanently affordable, LEED Gold certified homes join the Lents neighborhood
December 11, 2009
Commissioner Fish joined a host of folks the morning of the 11th to celebrate the completion of two new, permanently affordable, LEED Gold certified homes in the Lents neighborhood. Thanks to the hard work of a number of partners, two families will become homeowners, joining the Lents community.
A number of community partners worked together on this project - colleagues at Multnomah County; PDC Commissioners and staff; non-profits Rose CDC, Proud Ground, Portland YouthBuilders, and Community Vision; and private groups Earth Advantage, Imagine Energy, and the Oregon Institute of Technology.
This remarkable collaboration caps off a year that saw the City's housing budget increase by 30%, the groundbreaking of the Resource Access Center, and the launch of the new Portland Housing Bureau with a great new leader, Margaret Van Vliet.
Congratulations to all who made this day possible, and to the two families who will soon be homeowners!
