Oregonian highlights Community Warehouse
January 7, 2010
In this morning's Oregonian, Margie Boule shines a light on one of our valued non-profit partners, Community Warehouse.
Last summer we worked with Community Warehouse to put together ReUse Week, highlighting the many reuse organizations in Portland and encouraging our community to reuse old items rather than throw them out.
That drive generated a large number of donations for Community Warehouse, but as our economy has continued to falter, donations have dropped off significantly. Unfortunately, the need for the household items - beds, in particular - provided by Community Warehouse has only increased. "It adds up", Boule writes, "to a big deficit and a long waiting list."
If you have items to donate, contact Community Warehouse at (503) 235-8786 or take your items to their new home at 3969 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. They are able to pick up larger items directly from your home.
