Nike donates 4,000 jerseys to PP&R's Saturday Youth Basketball Program

Tomorrow, January 26, Nick will accept a gift of 4,000 basketball jerseys on behalf of Portland Parks & Recreation's Saturday Youth Basketball League. The jerseys, donated by Nike, are worth more than $150,000.
Attending the ceremony at Land Middle School in SE Portland with Nick will be Craig Cheek, Nike VP/GM North America, Director Zari Santner, Portland Parks Foundation Executive Director Linda Laviolette, and dozens of kids who play in the basketball league.
Since the 1940s, Portland Parks & Recreation has provided a youth basketball program for Portland youth of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels, teaching fair play and sportsmanship.
During the 2010 season more than 3,000 kids will participate in the program, managed by over 600 volunteer coaches and parents.
