Central City Concern in the national spotlight
April 6, 2010
Central City Concern's work has been garnering praise, both close to home and nationally, recently.
On March 31, OPB's Think Out Loud addressed the challenges of treating homeless people with mental illness. Guest Dr. Phil Shapiro, medical director at CCC's 12th Avenue Recovery Center, discussed CCC's work in transitioning clients from "spin and float" to "recovery and health."
CNN ran a story earlier this year about CCC's plan to build a new clinic on West Burnside and Broadway, highlighting the organization's unique and effective approach to recovery and personal transformation. CCC received an $8.9 million Recovery Act grant to fund construction of the facility.
