Weekend roundup
August 2, 2010
Nick had a fun and eventful weekend filled with the kind of events we love about Portland.
Friday evening he spoke at the rededication of the Japanese American Historical Plaza at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, presented by the Oregon Nikkei Endowment and then Nick and Patty attended "A Magical Night in Cambodia," a fundraiser for the Cambodian American Community of Oregon.
Saturday afternoon, he attended the Native American Youth and Family Center's 5th Annual Native American Housing to Homeownership Fair at NAYA's headquarters on NE Columbia. He enjoyed Parks Volunteer Appreciation Night at Laurelhurst Park with a screening of "Guys & Dolls" that evening and finished the night with Devin Phillips at Jimmy Mak's.
On Sunday afternoon, Nick was honored to meet Oregon's 6th Poet Laureate, Paulann Peterson, at the home of Susan Hammer and Lee Kelly.
