In so many ways, it's been a great year for Portland Parks & Recreation.

We presented the biggest Summer Free for All lineup ever, hosting more than 130,000 safe, supervised playground visits and serving almost 80,000 free, nutritious lunches to Portland kids.

We opened new community gardens all over town, helping more Portlanders than ever before access their own fresh, healthy food.

The 20th annual Community Survey of Portland residents showed that 86% of you felt good or very good about how we take care of our parks.

Now, we're very proud to ring in the new year with a #1 ranking from Travel & Leisure Magazine, which put Portland at the top of the list for "Public Parks & Access to the Outdoors" as well as "Quality of Life and Visitor Experience."
