Dear Friends,
I am pleased to share with you the Portland Housing Bureau's first Annual Report, for 2009-2010.
The report documents the progress we continue to make providing homes for low-income Portlanders.
I am proud of the many accomplishments of Director Margaret Van Vliet and her dedicated team at the bureau:
- Launching a new bureau, combining all of the City's housing functions under one roof.
- Breaking ground on Bud Clark Commons, the centerpiece of our 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness.
- Investing in affordable homes for working families, and preserving existing homes for low-income seniors and the disabled.
- Protecting the dream of home ownership for all.
As we move forward, we are committed to increasing transparency and accountability, leveraging limited public resources to get the best results, strengthening our relationships with community partners, and keeping equity at the center of all our work.
