Thursday: Learn more about our E205 Initiative
May 3, 2011
Update: The Oregonian's Larry Bingham was at the meeting Thursday night. Check out his recap: "Nick Fish unveils $1 million 'E205 Initiative' to improve parks in 'park-deficient' East Portland"
We know that East Portland has long been underserved in terms of park facilities and amenities.
We're working hard to bring new community gardens, sports fields, and better facilities to the East Portland community - we call is the E205 Initiative. The initiative doesn't involve enough money to close the gap, but it's a step in the right direction.
We're very pleased to share that the Mayor's proposed budget, released today, includes a $500,000 investment in our effort.
This Thursday evening, Nick will be at the East Portland Neighborhood Office to speak with the East Portland Parks Coalition and interested community members about the initiative.
Join us at 1017 NE 117th at 7:00 pm on Thursday to learn more about this exciting project.
