City and County proclaim 'Older Americans Month'
May 5, 2011
Yesterday, the Council was proud to welcome Multnomah County Commissioners Loretta Smith and Judy Shiprack for a presentation recognizing Older Americans Month in Multnomah County.
This morning, Commissioner Fish took a quick trip across the river to share the City's official proclamation recognizing Older Americans Month at the Multomah County Commission meeting.
This year's theme for National Older Americans Month is "Older Adults: Connecting the Community."
Our proclamation recognizes the many contributions of the more than 100,000 older adults in our community and expresses our commitment to maintaining the independence, self-determination, and dignity of our older residents - helping them 'age in place' and continue making vital contributions to the fabric of our community.
