Opening the doors of The Ramona
May 20, 2011
Yesterday, Nick joined community members and project partners to celebrate the grand opening of The Ramona, which brings 138 brand new, affordable apartments to hard-working families in the Pearl district, one of Portland's most vibrant urban neighborhoods.
Thanks to city, state, and federal investments, apartments at The Ramona will be available to low-income individuals and families for at least 60 years.
The building features solar hot water heating, energy-efficient windows and walls, and solar panels on the roof, writes Molly Hottle in the Oregonian.
This Fall, Portland Public Schools will open its first school in the Pearl on The Ramona's first floor.
Nick and the team at PHB are working every day to make sure every Portlander has a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home.
Congratulations to Ed McNamara and project partners for bringing The Ramona to life.
