Anna Griffin on Zari Santner
June 1, 2011
Anna Griffin dedicates her column in this morning's Oregonian to outgoing Parks Director Zari Santner, whose 30-year tenure with the City concludes at the end of this month.
"Santner's strength as director was perspective," Griffin writes. "She understands how unique Portland's park system is, from the leafy, lonely trails of Forest Park to crowded baby ballet classes at rickety old Peninsula Park."
"She's a Portlander all the way, and we're all the better for her work." We couldn't agree more.
We've launched a national recruitment effort to find our next Director - visit pdxparks.org/director for more.
