It's ReUse Week in Portland!
June 27, 2011
Did you know? 10,000 tons of material creates 1 job when burned, 6 jobs when added to a landfill, 36 jobs when recycled, and as many as 300 jobs when reused.
Last Wednesday, we declared Portland's third annual ReUse Week - a celebration of local non-profits that embody the principles of reuse, sustainability, and community-building.
We had a great time at McCoy Park during yesterday's Sunday Parkways event!
Our button reuse station was a hit, and we introduced a lot of people to our organizations and their work to give items new life with families, teachers, and artists in our community.
