Thank You, Zari
July 1, 2011
On her last day, we'd like to share our deep appreciation for outgoing Portland Parks & Recreation Director Zari Santner and the many contributions she's made to our community during her 30 years of service.
During her 8 years as Director, Zari built a stronger, more diverse bureau with a portfolio of parks and natural areas that's the envy of the country.
Zari's commitment to quality design has truly changed the face of our city - from Director Park in downtown and the Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade to Holly Farm and the Ed Benedict Skateboard Park.
The beautiful and one-of-a-kind spaces Zari has helped bring to life will be enjoyed by generations to come.
On the recreation side, Zari leaves a tremendous legacy of robust recreation programs that engage tens of thousands of Portlanders each year. Under her leadership, the team at Parks earn consistently high marks from the public.
For each of us, working with Zari has been an honor. Happy travels!
