Steve Duin on the meaning of Occupy Portland

The Oregonian's Steve Duin weighed in today on the meaning of the Occupy Portland movement, writing that "'learned helplessness' is the contagion of American politics. Our elected officials accept defeat like wounded dogs, and the cloud of isolation and despair fogs in the rest of us."
But, "as Commissioner Nick Fish said Monday, 'I am not alone' is a great organizing principle: When people are connected, they have a much deeper sense of possibility.'"
