This week, Council approved the final phase of the "Yards at Union Station" project, which will add 80 affordable units to an existing complex of mixed-use buildings next to Union Station.
The units are geared toward families and individuals making 60% or less of the median family income, which is $30,240 per year for a single person and $43,200 for a family of four. We prioritize our investments to make sure the projects we support - like The Yards - address our community's greatest unmet need.
We're proud to partner on this project, which is expected to create over 200 jobs and exceed the City's MWESB goals for diversity in contracting.
The 7-acre site has been honored with the EPA's regional award for 'Excellence in Brownfield Redevelopment' and will achieve LEED Silver certification when completed in March 2013.
The first phase of this project began in 1997. Since then, two additional phases have added a mix of affordable and market-rate units to the complex of buildings.
