Rose planting at Peninsula Park

Join us for the biggest planting day of the year!
Portland Parks & Recreation is recruiting volunteers to help plant 1,200 donated roses (valued at $8,000!) in Peninsula Park, Portland’s first public rose garden. Planting kicked off this morning at 8:00 and will continue on Friday from 8:00 - 2:00.
The roses, donated by Star Roses of California, are a new low-maintenance, pest-resistant breed. We're excited to welcome these bright, fragrant roses to Peninsula Park!
Last year, volunteers contributed 4,500 hours to caring for PP&R's roses! To join the crew on Friday, RSVP with PP&R Horticulturist Mark McKinney at 503-823-6229.
