Harper's Playground set to break ground
March 2, 2012
Story by Sophia Kecskes
After several years of hard work, the Goldberg family is finally ready to break ground on Harper's Playground. This amazing addition to North Portland's Arbor Lodge Park will be 100% accessible and is designed to create a space where children and adults of all capabilities can play together.
The Goldberg family is especially thankful for the support of the Portland Timbers and the University of Portland Pilots Women's Soccer Team. The playground, which will cost a total of $350,000, has almost reached its fundraising goal. With just months to go before the June 8th groundbreaking (Harper Goldberg's seventh birthday), there is still time to help the project leaders reach their goal.
If you'd like to support the playground, you're invited to attend the "Let's Dance for Harper" benefit event. This concert, headlined by Keegan Smith and Family, will be held from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on March 14 at the Crystal Ballroom, 1332 W. Burnside St. Tickets cost $25 and are on sale now.
