We’d like to share some exciting wildlife news. Portland Parks & Recreation naturalist, John Deshler, has found what looks like a mountain beaver in a northern part of Forest Park!
The Mountain Beaver is a giant mole, not to be confused with a common beaver. It is one of the most primitive rodents around.
The Beavers only live in Oregon and Washington, and haven't been seen in Forest Park for many years.
Check out this picture that was taken from the night vision motion-detecting camera and see if you can spot the little one!
