Parks celebrates National Water Safety Month
May 14, 2012
Join us this Friday to celebrate National Water Safety Month. Portland Parks & Recreation Aquatics is offering a fun opportunity to learn more about how to stay safe in and around the water from 6 – 8pm at Mt. Scott Community Center.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), drowning is a leading cause of accidental death for young children ages 1-4, and the fifth leading reason for accidental death for people of all ages.
Enjoy an evening of swimming with fun activities, games and prizes, as well as water safety information. There will also be a free drawing for lifejackets.
