Nick was honored to join Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, Portland Housing Bureau Director Traci Manning, and representatives from Holst Architecture for a tour of the nationally recognized Bud Clark Commons yesterday.
The Congresswoman had an opportunity to tour the Day Center operated by Transition Projects, which receives an average of 300 visitors a day. In the Day Center, people experiencing homelessness can access laundry facilities, showers, telephone and mail service, job search assistance, and other services.
The tour continued through the building, visiting the permanent homes operated by Home Forward. 120 permanent supportive housing units are home to some of Portland's most vulnerable formerly homeless individuals.
A year into its operation, Bud Clark Commons is a cornerstone in our fight to end homelessness.
We'd like to thank the Congresswoman for taking the time to visit.
