REACH CDC celebrates 30 years of service
September 7, 2012
Nick was pleased to join Congressman Earl Blumenauer, former Portland Mayor Bud Clark, REACH Executive Director Dee Walsh, and community members to celebrate REACH Community Development Corporation's 30th anniversary.
Founded in 1982, REACH CDC started as a small "community development corporation" with the mission to revitalize southeast Portland neighborhoods. 30 years later, REACH provides 1,400 affordable homes to the Portland community, provides home repair services for older adults, and brings the community together each summer for a day of service with the REACH Paint and Repair-a-Thon.
This winter, we will join with REACH to celebrate the grand opening of Gray's Landing, which will bring 209 affordable homes to the South Waterfront neighborhood. 42 of those homes will be for formerly homeless veterans. Gray's Landing will also be the new home for REACH, to launch the next 30 years of service.
