September 20, 2012
By David Nguyen
Join Nick, the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation, and community members at the grand opening of the new Oregon Rail Heritage Center this Saturday at noon.
At last, the historic SP 4449, SP&S 700 and OR&N 197 locomotives now have a place to call home thanks to the collective efforts of ORHF, hundreds of volunteers, and over 1,000 generous donors.
The Eastside Streetcar will be free for its inauguration on Saturday and Sunday. For additional information go to Portland Streetcar.
A small parking lot is under the new 99E viaduct at SE Caruthers Street and SE Grand Avenue. On-street parking is available on SE 6th Avenue or SE Division Place.
The new Center will be open for free all weekend - come and enjoy giveaways & prizes, live music, a gift shop, and kid’s activities.
