Veterans Stand Down & Job Fair October 3
September 24, 2012
By Sophia Kecskes
All veterans are invited to Portland's Stand Down & Job Fair, which is hosted yearly by Central City Concern. The event brings dozens of employers and agencies together to assist veterans. Attending veterans can connect to job opportunities and needed services, as well as connecting with each other.
New this year is the chance to have breakfast with representatives from three elected officials' offices: Senator Ron Wyden, Senator Jeff Merkley and Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici.
This event is a great opportunity for veterans and has been a huge success - nearly 800 veterans attended last year. This year's event will feature a resource and employment fair, food, medical services, hair cuts, and clothing.
