E205 comes full circle in East Holladay Park

October 1, 2012

Last year, the inspiration for our E205 initiative began in East Holladay Park - a neighborhood-centric park with few amenities in East Portland.

Knowing we did not have the funds to fully complete master plans for our East Portland parks, we targeted funds for small improvements that would help families enjoy their parks now.

By the end of the year, we will have improved 11 parks in East Portland including adding drinking fountains, trails for walking, hiking, and running, playgrounds, benches, and more.

On Saturday, E205 came full circle as Nick joined Portland Parks & Recreation's Director Mike Abbaté and community volunteers, led by Parks Board member Linda Robinson, to celebrate the soon-to-be-opened new playground at E205's inspiration: East Holladay Park

In addition to the new playground, the park will also welcome new benches along the park trails and dog off-leash area.

Next year, we will ask Portlanders to once again join with us to recommit to our Gold Medal parks by supporting a Parks Bond measure. Together, we can continue to invest in families and neighborhoods across the city.
