Hoyt Arboretum Fall Color Tour this Sunday

October 15, 2012

Fall has officially arrived (along with the rain).

Summer may be over, but Fall is one of the best times to enjoy Portland Parks & Recreation parks and programs.

For over 80 years, Portland's "living museum," Hoyt Arboretum, has provided Portlanders a place to enjoy and explore the nature of the city.  12 miles of hiking trails weave through the park, which is home to thousands of native species.  The arboretum is alive with beautiful fall colors, making this time of year an ideal time to enjoy what nature has to offer.

Join Curator Martin Nicholson this Sunday, October 21 at 2pm for a free 90-minute guided fall color walking tour.  Martin will lead walkers through the Arboretum, showing you where to find the best of the fall color.  He'll help visitors understand why the leaves change color, and which trees we can count on year after year for a stunning display.  Be sure to bring your camera along!

Visit the Hoyt Arbortum website for additional information, and other events.
