On Thanksgiving, we gather with friends and family to enjoy a holiday meal, and to reflect on the blessings in our lives.

Over the past year, I have been inspired by the power of people linking arms to do great things:

Cody and April Goldberg whose love for their disabled daughter inspired Harper’s Playground—a place where children of all abilities can play.

The board, donors, and founders of the Blanchet House of Hospitality who celebrated 60 years of service, and opened a new home to better serve the hungry in our community.

Public and private partners who overcame many obstacles to open Gray’s Landing in South Waterfront, the first dedicated homes for our homeless veterans.

They each remind us that the true meaning of Thanksgiving is love, service and gratitude—and that we have reasons to give thanks every day.
