The Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation is adding an additional weekend to their Holiday Express starting the afternoon of Friday, November 30, and two cheer-filled weekends following.
The Holiday Express departs from The Oaks Station at Oaks Amusement Park, and steams alongside the Willamette River on the Oregon Pacific Railroad. The Holiday Express is the only holiday train pulled by mainline steam engines in Oregon.
Seated in vintage cars strung with holiday lights, and filled with holiday décor and a glimpse of Santa, you are sure to be filled with comfort and joy.
All proceeds from the Holiday Express will go to the steam engines new home at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center across from OMSI. The Center is now home to three historic steam engines, two of which will be transformed into the Holiday Express. Portland Parks & Recreation is proud to join Fred Meyer and other partners to keep this eight-year holiday tradition rolling.
