Waud Bluff Trail taking shape
December 12, 2012
The pedestrian/cyclist bridge on the Waud Bluff trail is now in place!
While the bridge is not yet ready for use, it shows the significant progress on the trail improvements, which began last November.
When finished, the Waud Bluff trail will feature 1,700 feet of improved paved roads, native plants, a retaining wall to better stabilize the steep bluff, and the new bridge for bicycles and pedestrians to safely cross over the Union Pacific railroad tracks.
The improved trail will dramatically reduce the time it takes for thousands of commuters and visitors to get from North Portland to Swan Island.
