Local partners increase affordable options in Portland-area communities

March 12, 2013

The Portland Housing Bureau (PHB) is committed to ensuring that everyone has a safe and affordable place to call home. PHB’s work would not be possible without its mission-driven community partners.

While PHB and its community partners work to create safe and affordable homes in the city of Portland, our partners are also working hard to do the same in neighboring communities.

Northwest Housing Alternatives is constructing Alma Gardens, their first affordable housing community in Washington County. Alma Gardens is just steps from TriMet’s Max station at Orenco Station, and is surrounded by retail shops, medical services, and grocery stores. Alma Gardens will be home to 45 older adults in Washington County.

REACH CDC recently received $750,000 in federal Home Investment Partnerships funds. The nonprofit is using the grant to increase affordable housing opportunities in Washington County.

Our partner, Proud Ground, recently merged with Clackamas County Land Trust to expand their affordable homeownership opportunities in the community. Proud Ground recently helped a local family buy the first Proud Ground home in Beaverton.

Thank you to all of our partners for your work in ensuring everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home!
