A New Track and Field for Grant High School

This afternoon, Nick was proud to join Detroit Lions football star Ndamukong Suh, Nike, Portland Public Schools, and the Friends of Grant Athletics to announce that Grant High School is getting a new turf athletic field and a new synthetic track!
“We would not be breaking ground on this new field and track without the many years of hard work by the Grant Community” Nick said about the project.
Students at Grant have never had a turf athletic playing surface, and their track was in such poor condition that it was closed last year due to safety concerns. The project for a new field for Grant has been underway for more than 12 years. Because of our wonderful partners, this project is now a reality.
Ndamukong graduated from Grant in 2005. The NFL star’s Ndamukong Suh Family Foundation donation was the final piece needed close the loop and get this project started.
Grant High hopes to have the field and track completed before the start of the 2013 high school football season.
