The Yards at Union Station is complete

May 7, 2013

Yesterday, Nick was proud to attend the grand opening of the final phase of The Yards at Union Station.

The Yards is a multi-building apartment community which has brought more than 620 beautiful new homes to the River District, nestled at the foot of the Broadway Bridge.

The neighborhood, which includes market-rate and workforce apartments as well as apartments affordable to very low-income families, has been developed in several phases over the last 20 years.

The Yards supports a core belief we all share: that our neighborhoods are healthier and stronger when they’re open to all, and that everyone deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. It also reflects our values around sustainability - developed on a former brownfield site, the new building achieved LEED-Silver certification.

Over the last 20 years, the City, through PDC as well as the Portland Housing Bureau, has invested more than $20 million in the Yards. PHB was very proud to invest $5 million in this last phase, which brings 80 affordable homes to the neighborhood.

Thank you to all of our partners, including GSL Properties, City Real Estate Advisors, and Chase, who brought this final phase home.

For those moving into the Yards, welcome home!
