Beaking ground on the Center for Hope & Recovery
June 18, 2013
Last Friday, Nick joined Multnomah County Commissioner Loretta Smith, LifeWorks NW, Home Forward, and other community partners at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Center for Hope & Recovery, set to open next year.
“This innovative collaboration provides a treatment facility and permanent housing that helps families to build a solid base of recovery, maintain a crucial support network, sustain the success of their treatment, and remain in their local community,” said Mary Monnat, President and CEO of Lifeworks NW.
LifeWorks NW is a long standing Portland non-profit, providing mental health, addiction, and other social services to help build a healthy community.
The Center for Hope & Recovery models our community’s core values of opportunity, healthy neighborhoods, sustainability, and leverage – investing public dollars to leverage large private investment that makes visions like this a reality. The Portland Housing Bureau was proud to invest $4.5 million in TIF Set-Aside in this project.
Our community is stronger when everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. Special thanks to our partners at LifeWorks NW, Home Forward, Multnomah County, Gerding Edlen, Holst Architecture, O’Neill/Walsh Community Builders, and Wells Fargo for their work on this development. When we link arms – government, business, non-profits, and the faith community – we can do great things.
