Summer Free For All is here!
June 27, 2013
This morning Nick joined Oregon’s First Lady Cylvia Hayes, City Commissioner Amanda Fritz, Executive Director of Portland Parks Foundation Nick Hardigg, and hundreds of community members to kick off this year’s Summer Free For All and the Peninsula Park Centennial Celebration.
Today’s celebration featured a ceremonial rose planting, live bands, ice cream socials, and will continue on into the evening with the summer’s first movie in the park, showing Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.
Summer Free For All gives Portlanders a chance to enjoy free movies, concerts, and playgrounds in our Parks all summer long. The program also offers healthy lunches to school-aged kids all for free. Parks is expecting nearly half a million visitors to participate in Free For All activities this year, starting with today!
