Help clean up Johnson Creek
August 23, 2013
Join the Johnson Creek Watershed Council this Saturday for a day of cleaning up the creek!
With your help, the Bureau of Environmental Services and our partners are working to restore the creek, improve the water quality, reduce flooding and protect salmon with projects like the Foster Floodplain Natural Area.
The event is in the water, so remember to wear clothes and shoes that you’re okay with getting dirty and wet. If staying dry is more for you, help out by removing litter from various park grounds nearby.
All your hard work will be rewarded with a barbecue lunch afterward! If your energy is restored by lunch, additional volunteers are needed to clean up the materials found in the streams.
For more information about the event and to RSVP, contact Amy from the Johnson Creek Watershed Council at (503) 652 – 7477.
