Johnson Creek Days
September 20, 2013
This evening kicks off the third annual Johnson Creek Days!
All weekend long, come explore the beauty of Johnson Creek and learn about its restoration projects.
Tonight, join Johnson Creek Watershed Council’s Restoration Coordinator, Robin Jenkins, to experience a virtual flyover of the Johnson Creek Watershed. Robin’s “Science Talk” starts at 6 pm at the 4th Street Brewery. Learn about the 120 restoration projects that have been completed in the last decade, and see the newest development of the 2015-25 Restoration Action Plan.
Saturday morning, Johnson Creek Days will host a “Fun Run” in the lower watershed for runners of all capabilities. The weekend will also feature a Children’s Discovery Carnival, a “Bicycle Bonanza” bike tour of the Johnson Creek Watershed Council’s headquarters, and a “Weed Walk” tour with herbalist Randi Embree – where you discover all about the many different weeds found in the watershed and how they can be used for agricultural and medicinal purposes.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn and have fun. All the events are free, but registration is required for most.
