Out and about with Nick

September 23, 2013

This weekend, Nick was out and about Portland at three momentous events.

Nick started his weekend Friday joining Commissioner Amanda Fritz, Nike,Portland Public Schools, and Friends of Grant Athletics at the grand opening of the new turf athletic field and synthetic track at Grant High School.

Strong partnerships and shared values brought this incredible project to life. Special thanks to Ndamukong Suh, Nike, and Friends of Grant Athletics for all the support on this project.

Saturday, Nick was honored to attend the Oregon Historical Society’s History Makers Dinner. The special event honors individuals who have made a significant impact in their field of work or service during their lifetime in Oregon. Honorees this year included Bernie and Bobbie Foster, Publishers of The Skanner.

On Sunday, Nick joined Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, City Commissioners Amanda Fritz and Steve Novick, County Commissioners Diane McKeel and Judy Shiprack, and State Representative Alissa Keny - Guyer at the 2013 Portland AIDS walk.

This year marked the 27th anniversary of the AIDS Walk. The walk is put on every year by the Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) to raise money and awareness for HIV and AIDS prevention. Visit CAP’s website to learn more about the great work that they do in the community.
