Happy Thanksgiving!
November 27, 2013
On Thanksgiving, we gather with friends and family to reflect on the blessings in our lives.
Over the past year, I have once again been inspired by the power of people linking arms to do great things:
Operation 305 – a group of public, private, and nonprofit partners – overcame significant obstacles and found homes for hundreds of our veterans.
Community leaders and public-spirited businesses rallied to give Grant High School the perfect Homecoming gift: a new track and field.
The City worked with Elders in Action and other public and nonprofit partners to adopt an Action Plan for an Age-Friendly Portland, to ensure we are planning and developing a city that is accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
These important milestones remind us that the true meaning of Thanksgiving is love, service and gratitude — and that we have reasons to give thanks every day.
Sincerely,
Nick Fish
