Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon Celebrates 40 Years
May 15, 2014
Nick was honored to join faith and community leaders at the Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) Community Awards & 40th Anniversary Celebration Dinner last night.
The event has become the premiere ecumenical event in Oregon and brings together the diverse communities of faith from all around the state.
EMO works to advocate against social injustice, fight hunger and poverty, support healthcare for all, and works to ensure that everyone can have a safe place to call home. They are a shining example of the power of partnerships and the City of Portland is proud to be one of their partners!
Along with celebrating 40 years of service to the community, the event recognized and awarded Rev. Lynn Smouse López as the “Ecumenist of the Year”, Sho Dozono with the “Vollum Ecumenical Humanitarian Award, and the late Dr. Nohad Toulan and Dirce Angeline Moroni Toulan posthumously with the “Two Pauls Award.”
Thanks for the great evening and 40 years of service, EMO!
