Nick Fish goes to Washington
“We are a nation that remembers its heroes.”
President Barack Obama ~ June 2, 2015

Yesterday, Nick was honored to attend the Medal of Honor ceremony for Sgt. Henry Johnson at the White House.
Johnson was a member of the famed 369th Infantry Regiment, known as the “Harlem Hellfighters.” Nick’s grandfather, Hamilton Fish, was a Captain in the regiment.
Nick was joined by The Skanner publisher Bernie Foster, and George Hocker, Nick’s former Public Advocate.
It took nearly a century to properly recognize Sgt. Henry Johnson for his extraordinary heroism during WWI, but as President Obama said in his remarks, “it’s never too late to say ‘thank you.’”
Special thanks to Senator Ron Wyden for helping ensure justice for Sgt. Johnson.
