Annexation & Assimilation: Exploring the Archive East of 82 Ave.
October 17, 2016
On October 21st, join the Portland Archives & Records Center (PARC) to explore 100 years of shifting demographics among communities living near SE 82nd Ave.
Sabina Zeba Haque, the master mind behind the multi-media art exhibit, collaborated with PARC staff to understand the evolution of the neighborhood’s identity, and ways Portland can preserve its past while fostering a more inclusive civic identity.
The exhibit will present archival documents, video animation, oral histories, and a live theater collaboration from Tamara Lynn and Harrison Park School. Food and wine will be provided.
The exhibit is the second in a series of public art residences funded by the City of Portland Percent for Art Program, which is administered by Regional Arts & Culture Council.
