Veterans Day Proclamation
November 9, 2016
Today, City Council proclaimed Veterans Day as “a day to express our gratitude to our veterans and citizens serving in the United States military.”
On Veterans Day – and every day – we thank the men and women whose service protects our freedoms and honors our country.
This Friday, join Nick at the 42nd Annual Ross Hollywood Chapel Veterans Day Parade. He will march alongside the City’s Veterans Empowerment Team and a number of other community groups.
Started by veteran Vernon E. Ross, the parade is Portland’s only Veterans Day parade celebration! The parade will start at 9:30am at NE 40th and Tillamook, and continues down NE Sandy Boulevard to the Ross Hollywood Chapel.
We also invite you to stop by the City Hall Atrium and explore a display honoring City veterans and their diverse experiences in the military branches.
